About me

My attitude towards work

I am used adapting to new environments and learning how to work with different cultures thanks to my language mastering. Always focusing on following my dreams and passions, I take a special care to respect others. It might sound strange, but I really like fast paced environments where I have to deal with different problematics because it makes me feel excited and useful in my professional life. I lived a few years in Asia and I fell in love with some of its countries and people. I'm looking forward being able to work abroad again whenever I have the chance to.

Just Dance

Ubisoft Paris studio - Montreuil, France

Danse is always an art I followed with a peculiar interest. I have the chance to be surrounded by talented artists in my close circle and I always followed the actualities of different dancing styles through my relatives and studios like May J Lee Classes, Feedback studio Kr or the famous 1 Million studio. When I got the chance to work on Just Dance, a game melting dance, video games and artistic freedom, it was like an evidence to me and I would never thank enough my leads to have given me this opportunity I am embracing with all my heart.

Just dance is a challenging and fast paced environment for many reasons:

- 1 game is shipped every year and the production is relentless

- Many unique technics such as the take of the choreographies are challenges no other prod are facing

- Motion capture, the base of the gameplay, remains a constraint that always must be kept in mind tech-wise and UX-wise.

- Multiple studios are working to achieve this result and the communication needs to be streamed and uniform for every piece of information

As a project assistant, I got used to various problematics such as:

- The communication pipeline and decision processes involving HQ, marketing, content and production.

- The structure of a game operation in live with a season system and how the feedback/input of a game community can be included in a video game design.

- The sprint organization within a team of roughly 200 heads.

Master JMIN

Enjmin - Angoulême, France

The ENJMIN is the only public school proposing studies linked to video games and interactive media. Located in Angouleme the school is associated to the "Pôle Magelis" which counts in its rank some of the best graphical conception, animation and cinema schools. The school proposes 6 different formations during 2 consecutive years that have the chance to work together on multiple video projects. I was in the project management specialty and I worked daily with graphical artists, sound designers, game designers, programmers and UX designers.

You can find on this page the detail of some of my project I realized during my stay at  University.

Aside my formation, I participated to the organization of the telethon charity event and to the Enjmin Game Conference , a game conference fully in remote, under the banner of the school.

I learned during my studies :

- Remotely work on a video game project due to the lock down restriction

- Different pipelines such as the graphical and audio ones

- The use of middleware such as Wwise

- The different steps of creation of a graphical asset from the base mesh to the animated model

- To Manage and guide a team of 10 persons with different specialties toward a product fiting the deadline and the quality requirement

- To scope a project depending  on the accorded time frame : from 2 days to 5 months

- Find adaptive solutions for technical and artistic problems

ex : use of speed-tree to speed up the graphical design process or recruit voice actors/actresses thanks to Fiverr in a lockdown situation

- To Keep a project as simple as possible and to iterate on a fun idea rather than an untested complex one

- Organize and synchronize the work of the different specialties in sprint plannings with clear and targeted objectives and deliverables

Student project coordinator

University of Luxembourg- Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Aside my studies at the University, thanks to my participation to the University council, I got in contact with research teams of the University of Luxembourg. I got first a student job where I was in charge of the communication for the BICS formation during the open days and toward the students that were looking to pursue there studies in the computer science field.

Then I got in charge to create some student project for the BICS formation. The BICS formation is a academic bachelor design to prepare the students to continue their studies in a master degree specialized in research in the computer science domain. The originality of the formation lies in the report the students have to do each semester, it is a kind of micro thesis that has to be written in English and German or French. I was in charge to find some potential subjects linked to new technologies such as Augmented reality, virtual reality, interactive installation and of course, video games. I had to adapt every subject depending on the semester of the formation and the technical capacity of the students.

Aside this proposition, I had to create an evaluation grid to be able to estimate the progression of the projects and the quality of the technical deliverables proposed at the end of the projects.

he University funds support the research teams so that they can purchase the latest developer kits available on the market which increase the range and interest of every potential student project.

I really like sharing my knowledge and being in touch with the teaching process supervision in order to help a student to improve at his pace toward his interest and passion. I am looking forward to being able to be a teacher in project management or computer sciences after some years in the video game industry.

1 year contract in the management of an IT department

BNP Paribas - Montpellier, France

After my bachelor, I applied for  a one year contract as I wasn't planning to pursue my work in this field.

I was in charge of :

- Doing some documentation over an uncommented code that the lead programmer left behind

- Finding some design solution for a big data client targeting algorithm

- Respecting a continuous scheduled of report to my management

- Working in a SCRUM environment

- Planning a long term development strategy

Secretary of the student association (CEST) and student representative at the university council

University of Luxembourg- Luxembourg, Luxembourg

In parallels of my studies at the University of Luxembourg, I had the chance to be chosen as the secretary for the CEST student association then to be elected Student representative at the University council for 3 years consecutively

Thanks to the experience I learned a lot about the macro organization of the research and teaching department of the University of Luxembourg. I participated to the development of the implementation of the Confucius institute linked to the university to allow the student to have a glimpse of the Chinese language and culture.

I also proposed and defend two cases at the council that were accepted :

- The restriction of the ECTS threshold for student not to waste years in studies they are not done for . the threshold to pass to a second year of scientific bachelor formation was 25/60, we raised it at 40/60 to encourage students to invest more in studies and not to realize after two years that they were not interested in the subjects.

-The abolition of the mandatory external exchange semester, we made it facultative. The external exchange semester was a huge opportunity for students but some of them where having some financial issues due to the cost of living abroad.

In the student association I learned to work as a team with other students and to balance a budget for a non-profitable enterprise.

I also learned the administrative rules and the security procedures of concert and official events in a structure such as the one of Luxembourg.
